Maryland Children’s Environmental Health Coalition

Maryland Children’s Environmental Health Coalition (MD CEHC) is a coalition of children’s advocates working collaboratively toward improving the lives of children in our state. Our coalition works to support and advocate for laws that address children’s environmental health and well-being. MD CEHC recognizes the urgent need to address the growing issues surrounding the environment where our children live, play, and attend school. We are specifically concerned about protecting children from known hazards, preventing new hazards, thus allowing our children to live, learn, play and reach their full potential as contributing members of society. We welcome your support and participation.

MD CEHC seeks to improve the health of all Marylanders by promoting effective environmental laws and institutional policies, increasing awareness of the need for greater government protection, and advancing environmental health equity throughout Maryland – especially for our children.

MARYLAND CHILDREN’S ENVIRONMENTAL

HEALTH PROGRESS REPORT

This report presents the human health case for protective policies addressing pesticides, toxic chemicals, air and water pollution, hydraulic fracturing for natural gas extraction (‘fracking’), and climate change. Despite progress in many areas, critical protections for Maryland children are still needed to protect them at school, at play, and at home. Many of the issues documented in this report remain unaddressed – so our work continues.
